Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Fellow in the **Farley lab** at UCSD with 10 years of experience in academic and applied research settings including NASA, the biotech startup Chimera Bioengineering, and UC San Diego. Long-standing interest in elucidating mechanisms of gene regulation for biomedical applications. I believe fostering a collaborative, supportive, diverse, and inclusive environment is critical to optimizing team effectiveness, productivity, and longevity.

My goal is to conduct and lead research to optimize the next generation of gene- and cell-therapies by integrating a mechanistic biological perspective with computational analysis such as machine learning. Maximum impact of gene therapy requires an improved design of synthetic enhancers, promoters, and other gene regulatory elements. Controlling the conditions in which therapeutic genes are expressed will result in more potent and controlled gene- and cell-therapies.
